Memorial Day Weekend is the start of what is a fun, exciting and hot summer for all of our Elite Squad teams. Those that have played with us in the past, or summer ball in general knows that also means rain and lightning delays.
There was plenty of that mixed in with great baseball this weekend. The two 17u and 16u Prime teams came out as co-champions due to weather in their respective 18u and 16u divisions but this weekend is a lot more than just winning. This weekend is mostly for the players, families and coaches to get to know one another and bond before the busy summer circuit hits everyone in June and July. Our teams had a combined record of 40 – 14 over the weekend. Although these are pretty impressive numbers considering most of these kids and coaches are playing for the first time together, we certainly expect their bond to grow both on and off the field and make it a memorable summer for all.
It was a great start to the summer and we can’t wait to be back on the field for The Vero Beach Classic in less than two weeks!
