15u Prime (6-0) and 15u CBA (4-1-1) met on Monday for the Perfect Game Florida State Championship in the 15u age group. Both teams battled their way into the championship round and it was a dog fight of a championship game, as we expected it to be when both Elite Squad teams would see each other at the end.
A tight game was decided in the sixth inning as 15u CBA fell to Elite Squad Prime 5-4 in seven innings on Monday at Twins Field four.
Robert Levia reached base three times in the game for 15u CBA. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the fourth inning and tripled in the fifth inning.
Elite Squad Prime was sparked by Cory Acton and Triston Casas, who teamed up for three hits and two RBIs.
Elite Squad Prime jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. A double by Casas, bringing home Acton started the inning off.
Elite Squad Prime matched its two-run third inning with two more in the sixth. In the third, Elite Squad Prime scored on an RBI double by Casas, plating Acton.
15u CBA got two-run rallies in the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, 15u CBA scored on an RBI double by Ryan Moore, scoring Alec Andrew Villanueva.
