Elite Squad has been fortunate to have some very talented players come through our organization over the past few years. Those players usually draw big crowds from college recruiters, professional scouts and even selective scouting services that cover rising prospects.
Every once in a while these prospects are recognized and invited to All American games played at the end of the summer. The two most prestigious All American games are ran by Perfect Game (Petco Park, San Diego) and then The Under Armour All American Game (Wrigley Field, Chicago). Each of these games usually select 40 players. 20 from the east, 20 from the west. 10 position players 10 pitchers on each roster. As I mentioned we have been fortunate to have players play in these games in the past. Last year both Danny Reyes (University of Florida) and Elih Morrero (Mississippi State) were selected for the Perfect Game All American Game. Before them was Zack Collins (University of Miami) that played in both the PG game and Under Armour game. Wille Abreu (University of Miami) was selected to the Under Armour game. In 2011 there were 4 Elite Squad players that were selected to the Under Armour game that year as well. Nick Travieso (Cinicnatti Reds, 1st Round) Lewis Brinson (Texas Rangers, 1st Round) and Nick Basto (Chicago WhiteSox, 5th Round) Hayden Hurst (Pittsburgh Pirates, 17th round).
This year we are proud to announce that we will have a total of SIX players from our organization playing in the 2015 Under Armour All American Game. They probably don’t keep stats like this but we have to assume its the most players from the same travel organization since the game started. Either way, we are extremely proud of each one of these players and cannot wait to support them during their game and time at wrigley field. Make sure to watch them on Saturday 3:05 central time on MLB Network. You can also watch online by heading to MLB.com or Baseball Factory website. Here are the six players that Under Armour has chosen to participate in the 2015 Under Armour All American Game:
